My father never told me
That I could do anything I wanted He just showed me What my body actually Needed My father never told me I could be anyone I Wanted He just showed me how To be someone worth Being My father never told me To stop asking questions He just showed me how To come up with a few Right answers My father never told me That what I was doing Was wrong He just showed me a Couple of ways that Might be a little bit Better My father never gave Me a map to find Everlasting fortune He just showed me that White blazes were Something worth Following instead So thank you dad For showing instead of Giving For being instead of Doing For being was all We were ever meant "to do"
