The Moon fell fast asleep
As we gazed into its glow Deciding she would like To see where dreamers go But the stars were not so keen To be left there all alone Knowing night would soon grow dark Without the rock they called their stone For the Moon had been their life A mother to them all A lost but loving presence For all things big and small For the Moon could see the truth Within the vast old Milky Way That the sun was not the one Giving light to make the day For the stars and their reflection Were actually behind the ray That would find the hearts of humans And show us how to pray For all the things now shining Beyond the great divide Where dreamers went to live And darkness went to hide

Sun drenched splendor
Sifted by stars Came to find peace In the world before Mars A particle, a wave No one knew for sure For who could describe Something so pure Yet light we learned How to speak your name The giver of hope The destroyer of shame For who else could break The unseeable night But the wonder of love Your unbelievable might By day and by dark You knew no rest You flew past wind To land in the nest Held by the hands We knew as One You knew as He He knew as Son I caught a dream one day
In my butterfly net Scampering through a field Built for the ones who wear leather And dance amidst the seas When the sunflowers are no more It had wings made for soaring But a body blessed by dirt Longing to fly From the day it was born There was more to this journey Than riding on thermals For struggle you see Had not spared this Little dream Or kept it from the stories Only told by life's scars And only amidst a silence Undisturbed by spring's breeze Could I find the right eyes To finally open up to this new dream How did you become so beautiful, my dear? "By carrying stories and sharing blessings Always flying with my faith For isn't that all We were ever made to do? A new December moon
Came calling your name And there I still stood To listen to Her song Uncertain for certain Of what She would say Amidst a dead darkenss So silent and unstil But speak she sure did So I could lose a lost mind And open to exhale What I thought would be air For it was time to let go For my mind to give way It was time to be wrapped In something other than day So sleep could birth dreams That I'd found my twin flame After a new December moon Came calling your name I peered around your pinnae
At a cerumen clogged canal And popped into your pharynx With no real rationale I fought back waves of mucous And tears from blood shot eyes Searching for the sickness The real reason for your cries Always knowing that your heartbeat The soul beneath my glove Was hurt more than your eardrum And could only heal with love |
