Finding Air

Picture
I felt your breath
find space in my lungs
and my heart join hands
to say grace with the
Calm

For without your kiss
Its unmistakable bliss
I could have never
given thanks
for finding air

Upon Two Paths

Picture
Upon two paths
I stumbled near
Unsure the way
To go from fear
Intent to know
Before the start
The end result
For broken hearts
Planning to leave
The past behind
I longed to lose
My mindless mind
And begin anew
With faith my light
Walking His way
No need to fight
Knowing this life
Had more to see
More to hold
More to be
For peace was in
My future plans
A place to rest
In caring hands
For one of all
Would shine above
Accept my faults
And share His love
For in His arms
I'd always been
Would soon become
But here begin

Turn The Page Back

Picture
Turn the page back
And you might get stuck
Reading the same words
Over and over
A message repeated
Is not a message learned
Until a mindful eye
Sees the choice
To discover the past
Live in the present
And dance into the future
So go ahead
Turn the page back
Just as long as you know
When it's time to grab a pen
Breathe in the moment
And start to write a future
Worth turning back to

No For An Answer

Picture
I wish I was the kind of child
Who could take no for an answer
The kind of happy kid
Who could simply nod along

Yet hidden deep within
The sandbox of my stumbling
Was space just enough
For curiosity to go crashing

Crashing into a world
Forgetting to praise the child
Willing to hear your no
But live another answer

Poems Have No Birth

Poems
have no birth
no death
no end
only a space
between
where a poet
embraces
a storm come
passing
weathering the wind
and whittling the words
until all that is left
is just enough
and nothing
more
