Today, Rob excitingly has the opportunity to attend the second day of the 3-day CENTILE 2017 Conference, a conference promoting resilience, empathy, and wellbeing in the health professions. This conference is co-hosted by the Center for Innovation and Leadership in Education (CENTILE) at Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) and MedStar Health. The conference brings teachers, innovators, practitioners, leaders, and academic policy makers to present and discuss the best practices and strategies to promote resilience, empathy and wellbeing in students, trainees, faculty, practitioners and caregivers across the health professions.
As part of the conference, Rob will be presenting a poster describing a 4-week pilot program designed to cultivate resilience in nursing and medical students through the practices of mindfulness, self compassion and reflection. Below you will find Rob’s poster co-presented with his incredible friend and colleague through the UVa School of Nursing’s Compassionate Care Initiative: Dallas Ducar as well as a selection of slides from their workshop: Fostering Resilience and Compassion in Medical Trainees.

Children are given as active human beings because they had lots of energy to consume. They are very active individuals. In this kind of age, they actually learn a lot. They are fast learners. To hone them through activities at this age will help them be great people in the future. I am one of those people. My mom decided not to work until I grew up because she wanted me a normal life guided by her principles.
